We envision a future where Fort Wayne is known as a top city to live and flourish. A place for everyone - families with children, single young adults, new married couples - lives a fulfilling, enjoyable, life. We see a Fort Wayne where arts and entertainment draw both locals and tourists to concerts, restaurants, sports events, attractions, and parks. In other words, a place that other cities look up to and copy.

SOCIAL EQUITY

Fort Wayne is already a mixture of many cultures. For example, we are known for our immigrant populations. We envision a future where those cultures come together in a way that is not only welcoming but that works to strengthens ALL people. Whether a particular culture is defined by ethnicity, race, gender, physical abilities, age, or more, we see future Fort Wayne as a community know for not just being open and accepting, but one that actively supports strong cultural relationships.

NEIGHBORHOODS

Fort Wayne is home to vibrant and diverse neighborhoods that provide a safe and welcoming environment for all residents. There is a variety of housing options for all budgets, and each neighborhood has its own unique identity and sense of place. The city has an excellent medical system and a wide range of services available to local residents. Fort Wayne also has a strong commitment to safety, with neighborhood watch programs and a police force dedicated to keeping citizens safe.

STRONG ECONOMY

Fort Wayne is home to a strong and growing economy. With modern technologies, new jobs, and increased entrepreneurism, the city is attracting companies and workers from all over the region. The city is committed to investing in infrastructure to ensure the best regional connectivity. There are also incentives to encourage businesses to move to and invest in Fort Wayne, such as low taxes and tax credits.

EDUCATION

Fort Wayne is dedicated to providing quality education to its citizens. Early childhood education is a priority, with numerous daycare centers as well as public and private elementary and middle schools. High school and university opportunities are plentiful, with multiple public high schools and a wide variety of universities and community colleges to choose from. Skilled trades are also available, with a variety of career and technical schools providing job-specific training. Fort Wayne's graduation rate is steadily increasing, and the city is working hard to combat the brain drain of talented citizens leaving for larger cities.
